Cette grotte fossile conserve des dépôts du Pléistocène moyen ancien, une faune remarquablement riche et variée du Cromérien supérieur (environ 500 000 ans) et une industrie préhistorique à galets aménagés qui est de loin la plus ancienne trace d’occupation humaine du Benelux. The report on the field trip to the La Belle-Roche site (Sprimont, Belgium) during the Symposium « Five Million Years : the Human Adventure » allows us to carry out a synthesis of the multi-disciplinary research which has gone on there for the last 10 years.
