A partir de ces résultats est tentée une reconstitution des processus techniques de façonnage des instruments osseux, au sein desquelles deux phases ont été distinguées : la fabrication et l’entretien. Leur identification contribue à l’interprétation de la fonction générale du site. The lithic use-wear analysis of the Azilian and Late Magdalenian levels in the site of Sta. Catalina (Biscay, Spain) provides a set of results about the worked materials and the motions evolved with each lithic tool. An inference of the nature of bone and antler tasks is intended through analysis of the characteristics of usewear traces. In this way, we distinguish between manufacture and mending tasks. Finally, the nature of these works is related to the general functionality of the settlement in which they took place. L’analyse a mis en évidence la grande variété de matières travaillées dans le gisement, l’emploi différencié des matériaux lithiques, la planification du travail de la peau ainsi que des tâches de fabrication d’objets en bois, bois de cervidé et os. Ces résultats contribuent à l’interprétation de la fonction du site et replacent celui-ci dans une stratégie territoriale. The study is based on the use-wear analysis of the lithic tools recovered in the site of Berniollo (Alava, Spain). The analysis allowed us to detect the variety of materials worked in the settlement, the differential usage of lithic material, a certain planning in hide processing tasks and the presence of some tasks of bone, wood and antler tool manufacture. These results lead us to infer some considerations about the functionality of the settlement and the settlement pattern in which this site was inserted.
