http://popups.lib.uliege.be/3041-5527/index.php?id=4121 Si le biface est un objet innovant par rapport à ceux qui le précèdent, il n'a fait que rarement l'objet d'études techno-fonctionnelles approfondies, comme s'il n'était qu'évidence, du fait de cette forme si particulière. L'objectif de ce travail a été de démontrer qu'il n'y a aucune évidence fonctionnelle attachée à ce type de pièce, et que seule une analyse technique approfondie permet d'appréhender les réalités techniques. La notion d'Unité techno-fonctionnelle, synonyme de cohérence technique, permet de mettre au jour des intentions techniques définissant pour chaque pièce des caractères de fonctionnement, encore appelés caractères d'instrumentalisations. Ces caractères, remis dans une perspective d'action, nous restituent l'objet en mouvement, aboutissant à des hypothèses d'instrumentation. Techno-functional analysis of bifacial tools from the Acheulean layer C'3 at Barbas I (Dordogne, France) : If the handaxe is an innovating tool compared to older ones, few thorough techno-functional studies have been devoted to it, as if its function was evident as a consequence of its particular shape. The main purpose of the present work has been to demonstrate that no functional obviousness is linked to this type of tool, and that only a deeper technical analysis demonstrate technical facts. This notion of Techno-Functional Unit (TFU), synonym of technical coherence, allows to show technical purposes, defining for each tool the characteristics necessary to its use, termed "instrumentalisation" characteristics.
