      <description>Black grouse populations show marked temporal variations, which are determined by natural interactions between climate, vegetation cover, prey populations and predators. The understanding of the mechanisms regulating these short-term fluctuations would be useful to predict timing and trends of cycling. But the biologists have neither means nor reasons for interfering and controlling these interactions within the eco-system.  </description>
