Deux d'entre elles se retrouvent uniquement au nord du pays ; les trois autres vivent dans les régions arides du sud. Nous essayons d'établir par cette étude la répartition de l'ensemble des espèces. Five species of the sub genus Barbus live in Algerian's fresh water as wild populations. Two of them [B . callensis (Pellegrin, 1921) and B. setivimensis (Pellegrin, 1921)] are found only in the north of the country (Tell and Hauts plateaux) but three other species [B. biscarensis (Boulenger, 1911), B. antinorii (Boulenger, 1911) and B. fïguigensis (Pellegrin, 1913)] live in arid regions. In this study we try to describe the real area distribution for ail the species.
