Anticipation as a Bridge Between Theory and Praxis

The paper is addressed to people who do not deal with practical activity. Its aim is to draw attention to the necessity of creating anticipating methods that would be useful to apply in practical activity. This activity consists in creating new objects, managing the existing ones and organizing various undertakings. Practical activity takes place within social processes. Therefore, it starts with the analysis of needs and social expectations. The newly created methods of anticipation are a very important element of the present development of science. They allow omitting partially a probabilistic and statistic analysis of the processes. So, there is a chance to depart from the development of science based on the medieval view of "Ockham's Razor". Here, traditional science of science is a barrier to the development of scientific disciplines. Some of them are more and more distant from the physical and social reality. Scientific research consists in analyzing processes isolated from the surrounding. The results of such research are, of course, correct. Yet, in the reality there are no processes that are independent of one another. Therefore, the research results do not allow determining the synergy effect occuring during the interaction of particular processes. Experts, practitioners, creating new undertakings, handle this problem quite well. Their activities, only in the introductory stage itself, are based on theoretical basics. The results of these analyses identify the area, in which it is necessary to look for a practical solution. Science of science that is nowadays regarded significant causes the lack of acceptance of the research on anticipation. Therefore, it is indispensable to develop mathematical basics of anticipation. Yet, it is necessary for the elements of the created theory not to remind taditional scientific disciplines. It is essential to complement these developmental activities with the attempts to get theoretical considerations closer to practical reality.

Proper Anticipation Conditions for Globalization Processes Planning

The paper deals with a certain fragment of global economic undertakings. This fragment involves methods applied in anticipating future states of processes and effects which these processes cause. These methods have been worked out in the last 100 years and were based on research carried out by companies operating on homogeneous local markets. They are used to analyze single financial, manufacturing, technical, social and other problems. Some of them allow to discover the effect of mutual influence of individual processes, namely, the effect of synergy. However, most of these methods are totally unsuitable for analyzing current global economy. The aim of the paper is to point out certain particular possibilities of improving the existing situation, at least partially.

Economic Problems of the Anticipation of Technology Development

The aim of this paper is to interest scientific circles in the issue of the present level of technology development. The author thinks that it is absolutely indispensable to do research on the anticipation of further development in this scope of human activity. This issue constitutes an important problem of our civilisation. The author has published many results of the research within this scope. This research has been carried out for 18 years. On its basis the author has introduced the notion of "The System of Instrumental Civilization" (SIC). This system deals with technical objects production and technology development. Moreover, it deals with the production of services, e.g. banking services. It develops more and more rapidly because of the progress of globalisation. It works on the principle of competition among its particular elements. It is very important that the system remains independent of the considerations on global economy. The development of the system is based on technical problems. Engineers are required to develop new technologies, which are to serve new production. The way the development of technology is realised is also essential. Technical objects are designed. The essence of designing is to make use of experience and practical examinations. A new technical object undergoes some trials. Additionally, its performance in practice is also to be tested.

A Methodological Approach for the Possibility to Solve Synergy Effect between Theory and Practice for Globalisation Management

In the previous works the author discussed various aspects of the course of globalization processes. The essence of the problem was to search for the possibilities of steering these processes in the proper way. This paper presents the proposition concerns the realization of interdisciplinary research. This research consists in summing up the results obtained within various sciences.

Selected Postulates of Science Development Deterministic Chaos Versus Eastern Philosophy

The aim of this paper is to present the author's opinion on the methods used in scientific research whose results are to be applied in practice. It mainly refers to the research whose results describe global problems. This paper's role is also to attract attention to the necessity of system consideration of the anticipation problem (Adamkiewicz, 1997a, 1998b, 1998d, 1998c, 1998e). This view maybe justified on the basis of many sources as well as the author's own research. The process of economic, cultural and social globalization was given as an example of a process in which anticipation plays an essential role (Adamkiewicz, 1995a, 1996, 1997b, 1997e, 1998a, 1999b). Activity anticipating the future should at the same time involve a whole set of such processes. Separate consideration of every process included in the set leads to neglecting the effect of synergy (Adamkiewicz, 1997c, 1997d). At present each particle process is analysed separately applying the non system methods. These methods are in correct (Adamkiewicz, 1989, 1990a, 1990b, 1999c). It is a mistake to use, for example, Maslow's Needs Hierarchy Theory, Pareto's Rule and other methods (Adamkiewicz 1997a, 1999c). The discussed processes take place in arranged social-economic-technical systems. The author postulates the application of proper methods of their analysis. It refers to the theory of chaos due to the non-linear nature of the processes. It also refers to the forecasting methods applied in technical sciences. These methods, based on the theory of change, are the basis of current designing as concept preparation for any social, economic or technical activities. It is also important to draw the attention to the fact that after a period of fascination there is now a backward trend as far as system and cybernetics methods are concerned. Such harmful tendency maybe reversed by arousing interest in the philosophy of the East among certain groups of scientists. This philosophy, on the contrary to the philosophy of the West, is based on system perception of the world.

Remarks on a Multidisciplinary System Approach Applied to the Socio-Econo-Techno Complexe as the Anticipatory Systems

This presentation is devoted to some methodological aspects. However, I know from my experience, that various system research is received reluctantly considering the lack of methodological interpretations. They are very broad problems and at the same time belong to many research branches. Each of these branches has got its own culture of activity. Therefore, specialists representing various research branches, will understand my views in various ways. Therefore, the author presents a suggestion to standardize the procedures and hopes it will be accepted. The paper present a certain methodological approach to the possibility of applying the General System Theory in the research on Socio-Econo-Techno Systems. Scientific and social needs of such approach have been discussed. The procedure used in research have been suggested.
